State of Emergency was declared in Aichi prefecture for the period from May 12
(Wed.) to May 31 (Mon.). Message from Mayor of Toyokawa concerning the issue
is as follows. Here is the message.
From Mayor to Citizens of Toyokawa Message from Mayor
With increasing number of infected persons and the rising rate of the infected by
variant virus, it was determined that Aichi prefecture becomes the area of state
of emergency from May 12 (Wed.).
Toyokawa city is not an exception and has seen since April the tendency of
increasing number of the infected. The other day, the 4th case of cluster infection
(Infected group of people) occurred at senior citizen’s facilities in the city. Under
the circumstances of prolonged infection, I would like to ask citizens for further
effort of preventive measures such as wearing masks, avoiding 3 Cs (Closed
space, Crowd, and Close contact), and hand’s disinfection for early end of the
pandemic as possible.
About vaccination which is expected to prevent onset and severity of the illness,
the service for medical staff has almost completed and is now progressing to full
scale vaccination for the elderly. In detail, Individual Vaccination at medical
institutions is planned from May 25 (Tue.), and Group Vaccination which is
conducted at Prio 2 is planned from June 23 (Wed.). For offering information of
possible side reactions after vaccination and treatment to anaphylactic symptoms,
Toyokawa city and Medical Association are mutually confirming the smooth
collaborative management. Please feel safe to take vaccination.
To save the life and the health of the citizens, all city staffs are working in one
team for countermeasures against infectious disease. Your understanding and
cooperation are asked earnestly.
